Happy Easter
We had our family Easter egg hunt on Saturday 3.30.2013 because on Sunday it was going to rain. We could not have ask for a more perfect day! It was in the 60F , blue sky with white clouds. My husband, and I hide the eggs in the Rose Garden. This is the park that we do the Easter egg hunt with her. She love running around looking for the eggs. I video tape her as She search high and low. She found all her egg except for one that I hide so well that we could not find it LOL.She loves all the Hershey Kisses and milk chocolate M&M in her Easter eggs. She also got a milk chocolate bunny. Then I took some photos of my little Princess and Daddy. There is a lake in the middle of the park, and in the middle it has square rocks that if you walk on it , it takes you to the other side of the park. My little Princess wanted to cross it, and my husband held her hand and together they walk across. Before they reach the other side I told them to stop and I took a photo. At the same time a couple in their 40's stop and the man said, "That is a beautiful photo it looks like a postcard" You should send it like that. I smile so did my husband and my little Princess. We all told him Thank You! At night after I read my daughter a bed time story. I ask her how She felt when the couple stop to look at her while I took her photo with Daddy? She said, "I felt like a movie star".
On Sunday Easter day we went to our church for our annual breakfast at 9:00a.m. On the menu this year we had a egg frittata. Made with eggs, tomatoes, chicken sausage and cheese and the crust was crescent roll. It was bake in the oven. We had fruits cocktail made out of apples, strawberry, kiwi, red grapes and green grapes. There was also muffins: blueberry, corn, coffee cake, nut muffin. I love the coffee cake but only ate half to big. My husband ate a whole one and told me he was full. We had orange juice. Great satisfying breakfast. Then we had Easter service at 10:00a.m. My little Princess sang with the other Sunday school children. I video tape her. She looks so Beautiful wearing her Spring dress. For lunch I took my little Princess to McDonald She wanted a chicken hamburger no mayo no lettuce. Small fries and a Berry cooler. Then we came home and spend time with each other playing the Wii and talking. My husband and I made our traditional meal. Pernil and Arroz con Gandules con Jamon. Pork and chick pea rice with ham. It was Delicious. We kept saying MMMM Que Rico! MMMM Delicious! We did get the rain.Thank God we did the Easter egg hunt the day before. We spend the day happy and cozy in our house. Feeling Bless! We got Rita's ice on the first day of spring for free. We pick up our little Princess from school and headed to Rita's ice. They were giving away free ice. My husband got Mango, Passion fruit for me and my little Princess got sweadish fish. She could not wait until she got home to eat it. I was able to take 2 photos of our ice my husband and mine. They were delicious and I was happy that they were free.
On Thursday we had a spring party for the after school children. The children were split into 4 groups. They did not do homework for the day. One group was with me doing craft. They planted basil inside a crack egg shell. They all love this activity and got to take it home for the basil to continue to grow. Another group was doing cupcake decorations. The other group did pretzel dip in chocolate and the last one Bingo. They won prizes in Bingo. Also we had guess how many jelly beans are in the container. One 1st grader won. They all got to participate in all the activities. We work with children from 1st to 5th grade. It is a wonderful program that has been running for 18 years. The Peeps company donated peeps for them to take home. I made 36 Easter goody bags for them. I made tags and cut each of them. It had 100% juice, cheese crackers and 100 calories brownies. One of the girls in 3rd grade said, "It looks like you did a lot of work". I said, " it took me 2 days, but I was happy doing it because it was for all of you". I had my daughter who is in the program too give the goody bags to each of them. They said, "Thank You"! and she said," you are welcome"!. It is a great feeling to give and make children happy.

YMCA Nutritional Class
I started a nutritional class at the YMCA from 10:30a.m to 12:00p.m. There are 15 woman student in the class. We learn about the nutritional part of the food we like. Choosing fruits and vegetables, and whole grains. Whole grains: brown rice, graham flour, whole wheat, buckwheat, bulgur, millet, whole grain corn, popcorn, whole grain barley, quinoa, wild rice, whole rye, whole grain flour, whole grain cornmeal, oatmeal or whole oats. Brown bread. Bread can be brown because of molasses or other added ingredients. It does not mean whole grain. A fancy name. Breads labeled "multigrain", "100% wheat,""cracked wheat," "seven grain," "seven grain,"" stone- ground," or "brand" are often not whole grains. You have to check the ingredient list. Whole grains after the first ingredient. This could be only a very small part of the food. It is not a whole grain. We also made Vegetable Lasagna, Tabbouleh (refreshing salad), Sweet potato fries, Baked flaked chicken, peanut butter and banana pockets and fruit smoothies. Everything was delicious. I made the vegetable lasagna at home.
